In May 2022, the U8 and U9s footballers of Jamie Cassidy Soccer Schools got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to play at Villa Park, the iconic home of Aston Villa, thanks to PlayOnThePitch.com. This was more than just a tournament; it was a chance for our players to experience the thrill and atmosphere of being professional footballers. Walking in the footsteps of legends and taking to the pitch at a Premier League stadium created memories that will last a lifetime.
Both age groups reached the finals the final, with our 8’s finishing runners up and our 9’s winning their final on penalties and taking the cup home!
Neither team conceded a single goal throughout the tournament until both finals with only 3 goals conceded between them in 10 games, with both goalkeepers from both age groups keeping 4 clean sheets out of 5 games, a fantastic achievement!
The day was packed with special moments. The children were thrilled to use the real players’ dressing rooms, feeling like pros as they prepared for each game. Lining up in the tunnel and walking onto the pitch brought out big smiles and focused faces, creating a truly unforgettable experience. And when our champions received their medals and lifted the trophy, it was the perfect ending to an unforgettable tournament.
